| Tennis Liverpool Schools Programme | |||
Our work with schools is an important part of our programme. Through localised development agreements with the Liverpool South Schools Sports Partnership we have assigned links to various primary and secondary schools. | |||
| In-School Demonstrations For primary schools we will come in for a day (or two days in the case of 'double entry' schools) and undertake a tennis demonstration for upto 6 classes per day for 30 minutes each. This is usually done indoors with mini tennis rackets and balls and takes the form of a short 'exhibition match' between two of our coaches, the chance for all the children to try out tennis exercises and a challenge where selected children take on the coaches! Finally there's a question and answer session including information about local sessions and each of the children take home a leaflet. All children are welcome on our programmes irrespective of standard but those who show particular athletic ability will be invited directly to 'fast track' sessions. For secondary schools we will do an outdoor session for years 7 or 8. |   | ||
| Curriculum time coaching We will undertake curriculum time coaching in any school for any year using the Modern Tennis System which is ideal for developing tennis skills very quickly. Teachers are encouraged to be fully involved. Training for staff We are accredited to teach the Modern Tennis progressions through courses for staff. A pilot course was run in September 2007 at Archbishop Beck Tennis Centre for teachers and community coaches.
