Route One -  The Key to Effective Development

We believe that Tennis Development is best served by a
'back to basics' approach outlined by a simple and easily followed model known as 'Route One'. This was developed
in the late 1990s and has been successfully widely adopted
in the UK and elsewhere.
Find out more with our detailed series of articles.

The Method is based on:
1. Setting Preconditions
2. 4 'As' planning process
3. Managing the 3 Stages of Sports Development
4. Marketing through the 5 Key Development Hooks
5. Following the Programming Timetable

Key ingredients - recipe for success!
In addition every participant on a successful programme should have access to the following Key Strands. These forms a big part of the specimen development programme we outline
.

1. Coaching
- structured teaching
2. Playing
- social play for fun
3. Competing - formal tournaments or league matches
4. 'Learning Through Tennis'
- developing transferable
on-court athletic skills and off court life skills

Put all this together and your programme will be a winner!
