So you want to develop a winning programme?

It's worth remembering that however impressive a development plan looks on paper any programme stands or falls on the enthusiam and commitment of those directly involved as coaches or administrators.

This is reflected in the many successful community tennis programmes in the USA following a study of which the Route One model was developed and the increasing emphasis being placed by the LTA in the UK on supporting successful local operators. The ITFs latest participation initiative 'Stay,Play and Succeed' is another excellent and clear example of 'back to basics' principles in action.
