| | | Tennis Liverpool ...at the heart of Community Tennis! | Tennis Liverpool was founded in July 2007 by coaches David Simms and Stephanie Anderson and is now the city's leading community tennis provider.
We're based at Palmerston Tennis Club, operating at 5 venues and linked with over 25 schools through the School Sports Partnership and Sports College network. There are currently about 300 registered juniors and 50 adults although the programme reaches over 5,000 young people annually through the schools programme.
There's lots on offer - and always plenty of fun and activity! | | 'Sport is the Hook, Life is the Game!' | We offer a simple and effective approach that's not always about producing champions and makes tennis equally accessible to all, irrespective of social, financial or ethnic background
Our aim is that every player, junior or adult, gets the most out of their involvement in Tennis through discovering a 'game for life' and making many friends both on and off the court.
The programme follows the examples of successful initiatives in the USA in helping to provide young people with a 'Safe Passage' through to meaningful adult life.
| | ...our 4 Key Programme Elements | | | 1. Coaching Quality Instruction using the Modern Tennis System | | | 2. Playing Social Play for fun! | | | 3. Competing Organised Competitions and Challenge Matches | | 4. 'Learning Through Tennis' Developing transferable skills for life through our junior leadership programme | | ...the end result - a friendly programme for all the family! | We have a friendly and encouraging approach to everyone whether they want to just play for recreation or get more serious about their game. The Modern Tennis System we have adopted has ensured that the teaching is simple and the players improve their skills impressively.
As a result we have a huge amount of fun at the sessions and there is a very high retention rate of players.
We encourage families to get involved and parents are very much in evidence on court as active participants in Mini Aces and Young Aces sessions.
Wherever we are we try to make sure there's always something going on! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
